<p>In January, the UC Board of Regents announced its intention to cut to freshmen enrollment by 2,300 students for fall 2009 due to insufficient state funding and previous overenrollment. University officials are hoping to enroll about 33,000 California freshmen this year and boost community college transfer admits by 500.</p>

<p>UC_Transfer - you have a lot of nerve though - judging our “foresight.” We all had enough “foresight” to follow the damn IGETC, do what the hell our counselors told us we were supposed to do, and is it too much to expect that UCSD would hold up their end of the bargain? Hell, is it too much to expect they would at least give us the results in a timely manner?! Why are you so high and mighty anyways - are you even a student/applicant?</p>

<p>The IGETC is the minimum needed to have a decent shot at acceptance (for most majors) </p>
<p>I was rejected last year from several “sure thing” schools last year with a 3.8 GPA. If I had a TAG to any of these schools, I would have raised hell. Luckily, I was accepted into my 2nd choice school out of the other 7 schools I applied to.</p>
<p>Attending a UC is a privilege, a fact I think is lost on a lot of you. No one is guaranteed a spot…</p>
