UCSD decisions are out Fall 2009

does anyone know when they will tell people about their decisions from this wait list? i don’t really want to be sitting around for another month hoping they get in touch with me.

http://revelle.ucsd.edu/prosp/winter2010faq.pdf

i just came across that while searching for waitlist info, it says revelle in the link…but is that a relevant site for this years admission info? Now, keep in mind that it is freshman statistics, but would it also be valid for transfer people? it shows the number of people admitted into the winter 2010 quarter…and it states that they use no waitlist process for the FRESHMAN admits. but i wonder if that applies to transfer students as well.

nothing as compelling as yours thats for sure…ill let you know once i get a good idea what to write

congrats pearl!!

Q: How many students were admitted for both Fall and Winter Quarters?

A: Approximately 17,000 students were admitted for the Fall Quarter 2009 and an additional 717 students were admitted for the Winter Quarter 2010. We do not use a waiting list for admission.

Q: How is one selected as a Winter Admit versus a Fall Admit?

A: The admissions application is reviewed in its entirety multiple times and given consideration based on information the student has supplied. The University had over 47,000 applications for fall and while we would like to admit all eligible students to fall, we cannot, so we elect to offer winter admission. Being
offered winter is a reflection of the size of the pool and the profile of our freshmen applicant pool not an indication of the quality of the student’s academic record.

I know it’s talking about the freshman pool, but do they do the same process for transfers?

Thank you guys! It’s been a long time coming.

My housing message changed sometime last week, and I was able to sign up for transfer admit day prior to finding out acceptance.

My housing message changed once before this, I believe, when my “pending” paragraph after login disappeared but after it came back, I got the same message. I HATE that they made me wait this long!! I swear, my hair was falling out from stress.

Who’s going to transfer admit day?

For everyone else still waiting, there is hope!!

hey, you got accepted though. Congrats!

Hey congrats to everyone who got admitted. Does anyone need to fax their tax returns and fill out a Dependent Sheet to their financial aid office by May 1st? I’m working on mine right now. Need to find out if I should fax the whole return or the first two pages…

okay… i read the appeal process again, we must contact the admission officer, speak on the merits of the appeal and then write our appeal for consideration, dont forget to call the admission officer because they wont consider it if you dont. So if you guys want I’ll help you guys with creating merits for your appeal processes. But lets hope we just get in initially. and its due by may 21.
