UCSD decisions are out Fall 2009

Is it possible that the delay is due to the six colleges trying to place students based on their acceptance and college choice? I’m not even sure which college I listed as preferred. Which ones the best?

Ya, so I guess it is random. I counselor at UCI told me that’s how they process theirs - randomly. IT seems like there must be some kind of system though…

Whatever, I still think they should have worked OT or whatever they had to do to get the results in today. This is their self-imposed deadline.

I’m glad some of us are still getting accepted - that gives me hope.

Exn-my understanding is that each college has a different “philosophy” and that the requirements for each college are different. With some of them, as long as you have completed IGETC, you are not required to take any more GE classes. Some of them make you take additional classes in addition to your major classes. You should go and check out each college’s webpage.

i turned my application in on november 24th my moms birthday… so i think thats pretty late so but i dont know im giving up espeically now that i have to wait through the weekend.

I applied during the last week or so before the deadline.

exnihlo - hmm, ya maybe! Maybe each college got their 1st draft pick of the students that picked them, and the ones they didn’t want got handed down to the 2nd choice for consideration.

So each college offers courses only available to students of that college?

No - it was explained to me that it’s like Harry Potter. Griffendor, Slytherin, Hufflepuf, and the other one are all different “schools” but they take classes together.

It’s just that each college will have special extra classes that they definitely want you to take - like I think Revelle is heavy on math, science, and they require foreign language - but other colleges just care that you can pass regular college level algebra or whatever.

Hahah so what would Revelle equivalent to?

That’s silly. What’s the point?

I hope I don’t have to take any advanced math classes. I was hoping the only math I had to take was Stat I for IGETC. :D

Exn-No. You can take whatever classes you want, but depending on your college, they might make you take an extra humanities class or another writing class, and so on and so forth.

Well Griffindors were brave, Slytherins were evil, Hufflepuff - what the f*** was Hufflepuf?! But I think Ravenclaw were the smart ones… so I think Revelle is Ravenclaw!

lol - I’m really starting to go a little nuts w/ this waiting game!

exnihlo - sunshine explained it best - each college may just require you to take an extra class in a certain subject

hufflepuff was the school b*tch!

the school *****?! Gimme the 1st letter…

Anyways, I better get back to work y’all - I’ll check back later, hopefull some of us will get accepted before the end of the day.

I see. Thanks for the clear up fellow UCSD transfer hopefuls!

Hey, can anyone confirm that we will need to wait the whole weekend to get our final decision?
Thank you

I called and that is what they told me “keep checking through the weekend” finally I got someone to look up my app. and they said…no decision posted yet. They said “i should have no problem getting in” based on what I told them but that decisions could go until Sunday.

Thank you Lavendar!
You rock, I am so glad to know that the torture is being extended.
How kind of them

I couldn’t sleep last night because of this. Now I won’t be able to sleep through my whole weekend. How grand.
