wow guys, sorry. that’s a bunch of BS by UCSD… i suggest calling them (everyone) and complaining.

Just found out. Rejected. After all the waiting, this is what I find out. 3.4 gpa, econ major.

And my friend who have 4.0 gpa, but international, got rejected today as well.

ucsd gave me the biggest headache.
i got accepted on the very last day.
yesterday, like 4p.m. they updated with “you got in”

i have a 3.1/sociology major. i don’t understand why they took so long.
bummmer for those that didn’t get in and had to wait =/

oh well, san diego is lame anyways. i grew up there. mehhh.

Wow guys. Kudos to you.
I am amazed that in the face of such heartache, you are all being so proactive. You can bet your *ss I will be calling them at 10:30/11.
Why on earth could they reject us?
Blow.
Hm, things are not looking so hot for appeals.
Let’s keep working.
Good luck all and…
where is my pryo friend? We should go handle business at SD.
Wait, seriously, hey, where are Tekierz and Brad?!

That is unbelievably ridiculous

rejected… hopefully though with knowing the Jacobs they can help me out

Major: Art History
GPA: ~3.7
Admitted: UCSC, UCD, UCSB, UCI, UCLA, Cal
Rejected: UCSD

Suck it, SD. To the people who got rejected with TAG… what the hell? That’s pretty messed up

guess what guys? REJECTED. those fa g fu ckers… i got my appeal written so lets start to unite for appeals… we aint going down without a fight.

Damn straight.
Appeals all the way

For an appeal to have merit, it must present new and compelling academic or personal information that was not included in the original application. New and compelling information is defined as any extraordinary situation or event that was not presented in the original application, but may significantly impact an admissions decision. Such examples may include, but are not limited to: 1) the declining health and/or recent death of a family member; 2) the applicant was the victim of a crime or involved in a tragedy of some type, and the resulting experience adversely impacted his/her academic performance; 3) the applicant was recently displaced or currently faces extraordinary family disintegration; 4) the applicant has a serious health diagnosis and cannot leave the San Diego and/or Imperial County area; 5) the applicant is a recent caregiver for a dependent parent; or, 6) the applicant has information that shows a stronger academic record than reflected in the original application: missing on-time ACT/SAT scores, courses not listed as AP or honors, or additional coursework.

should we make a appeal thread just for ucsd??

think an appeal would work for…

UCSB telling me that i should have all my GE’s finished so i did that but got rejected because i don’t have enough classes for my major already completed

done. lets go there.

Yes, let’s go.

Rejected today too :(

I’m rejecting UCSD. Why would anyone want to go to a school that takes my $60, promises me admission in an agreement, and then doesn’t tell me my decision until after an agreed upon deadline. UCSD is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL UC that I have dealt with. Don’t go there! I’m going to go to Irvine instead and study abroad.

Exnihilo, you raise excellent points. Man, i sorry. Good luck to you

aaaaw ****. so, so far everybody who’s checked today has been rejected? i don’t even wanna check! man this blows.

the fact that they rejected people who were TAG certified is just rediculous. you guys definitely need to find out what the hell is up with that. could possibly be grounds for appeal.

oh well, hopefully TAG is just a tad more effective during the winter session.

BOOOOO

Yeah what the hell, I was rejected even though I have TAG…its called a fking TAG that stands for transfer agreement GUARANTEE. It’s bad enough they couldn’t meet their own damn deadline. My guess is those fkers were just like…“hmmm we have a buncha applications left…review them…nah fu**kit just reject them and lets go get drunk!”

What the number for appeals? the number I called keeps coming up with a message.
