UCSD FALL 2016 TRANSFER THREAD

we heard just some told my friends (accepted), this link is so quite!! I don’t think it’s true, What other think? :)>-

I applied only two UCSD and SDSU (SDSU rejected) (no money to apply other), have only one, if it reject what can I do? Help???

@Brian1990 Why didn’t you apply for a fee waiver at the time you’ve submitted your UC application?
Instant result & easy…

@Brian1990 if you get rejected you can apply again next year take anymore classes that you need (if applicable) or you can do more EC’s. If you don’t want to wait a whole year then look at schools that will be accepting applications for the spring semester/quarter, usually CSU’s (not all) do this the most and MAYBE a UC will do that. Thats going to be my plan anyways, if I get rejected. Good luck.

how to get fee waiver and how to know which school has spring application?

@IWannaMakeDrugs Physics seems like a class required for your major prereq or IGETC science requirement. I finished all my requirements in Fall 2015. My withdrawal has no impact (so they tell me over the phone).

@Brian1990 when i applied to the UC’s this past November I received the fee waiver at the end of the application . It asked me some questions (usual financial aid questions) and that was that. You’re going to have to call or look up each individual school. Some don’t know if they are opening for the spring yet so you might have to wait a little longer, but I believe they usually start around august. Don’t lose hope yet, you haven’t been denied so before you panic maintain hopeful for UCSD.

I just saw UCSB reject me. This doubles my anxiety.

@Bren22baca Thanks

My major: Biology
GPA:4.0 (from last fall), after this spring has one more physic class for this summer
Do I have a chance? any idea very helpful

@chuclan21
Same here for CS. I don’t have the physics reqs, so not really a surprise. I’m afraid UCSD will do the same, so I’m not getting my hopes up! I applied for the B.A.

@Brian1990 Where are you from? SDSU is known to reject students with 4.0’s that are not local. I don’t know if anyone can chance you right now, or at least accordingly but everyone has been saying that UCSD is very big on high GPA’s so if you have a 4.0 and you’ve completed all pre req’s then I say you have a very high chance of acceptance, theoretically lol.

@Bren22baca San Diego, I hope UCSD, please

@microt
I will finish all physics prereqs by this spring. I missed few CS classes for UCSB (one base preparation and few strongly recommended + additional preparations). For UCSD also I would miss two CS prereqs. I should really have finished those classes…

@chuclan21 on the same boat here, missing 1 semester of physics for ucsb :frowning: how many physics classes are required for the b.s. program for cs at ucsd? i remember seeing the physics series under the strongly recommended section, but i’m not so sure about the required part

@rollcake
If you’re Computer Science major, you can choose one series of science from 4 groups. Physics includes Mechanics and Electromagnetism. (see http://cse.ucsd.edu/ProspectTransfers)
And if you’re Computer Engineering, you must finish all 3 physics.

@chuclan21 guess i’m good for ucsd then. thanks for the info!

A question for those of you who applied for Computer Science major.

Did you guys finish every single the requirements on assist.org?

Things that I’m missing are CSE15L(no articulated), CSE21(no articulated), and CSE30(no reason)
I finished all requirements besides those three, and my gpa is 3.95 (one B in phys1)

Anybody can chance me???

And, I wonder how other cs applicants did with the requirements. There are so many requirements :frowning:

@csplzplz As far as I know, college does not offer CSL 15L and CSE 21 equivalent courses, so missing those courses doesn’t make less probable to be accepted. I think you have high chance if you’re 3.95.

What’s the average GPA for CS transfers last year? I’m quite worried after hearing about switching into CS requires a perfect 4.0 at UCSD.
