Does anyone want to come to 6th college? I’m looking to switch into Muir? let me know if you want to, 6th has amazing GE’s and events, I want muir because of personal reasons let me know if you want to switch.
Hi everyone! I got rejected from UCSD
Major: English
GPA: 3.9
Pre-reqs: Completed
IGETC: Completed
EC: a handful including an honors program + various honor societies
Out of state cc student
But I incorrectly stated on my UC Application that I did not meet the minimum transfer units required when in fact, I do. Should I appeal? I feel that as soon as they saw that, I was rejected but UCSB asked that I send a transcript, where it stated that I have more than 60 semester units. I’m not sure if I would prefer UCSD over UCLA, which I was accepted to, but I hear this university gives much more in financial aid for oos students. Anyone have any thoughts?
Can you please elaborate on where you heard that UCSD gave a lot of $$ for oos students?? Because I’m also an oos student and emailed the financial aid officer because NO AID was listed (so ill have to pay the whole $57,000). They said they dont have anything for oos students
He guys.
I applied as an economics BA major, and they accepted me instead for international economics. What could be the deal?
Is anyone going to transfer day next Saturday? I’d love to meet my fellow transfers!
@marinacma I am going to be there next week!
Hope to see and meet you guys there!
For those talking about commuting to campus:
I currently live 30 minutes (without traffic) south of UCSD and I commute. If I have a class at 9 am (or earlier) I tend to leave 2 hours earlier because traffic is pretty brutal if you live south of UCSD. So for my 9 am classes, I leave at 7 am. If I have a class that is in the afternoon or any time when traffic isn’t apparent, I leave an hour earlier. So for a 1 pm class I would leave at 12 pm. The reason being is because I park at regents and have to take the shuttle, so I plan according to the drive + the shuttle + the walk to class. I pay $183 per quarter and thats for an everyday pass, but there are other options like alternating day passes, 1 month passes, etc. Personally, I have never really had trouble finding parking like people claim (my s/o is a graduate of UCSD and also feels the same). Obviously regents isn’t the most ideal idea of parking, but it beats circling around gilman or hopkins.
@marinacma I’ll be going. Excited to meet more transfers too!
goodkidmaadcity - my D’s friends that drive to campus park over in regents parking and take the shuttle in. I know this as sometimes D gets a ride home from a friend that parks there instead of taking the bus back to her apartment. $549 for parking 3 quarters is expensive!
Does anyone want to change from Muir or Marshall to 6th college? I would consider it if anyone is interested. Look forward to meeting you guys next saturday!
I got accepted, but ultimately turning them down due to distance. It’s way too far from home for me
Major: Economics
GPA: 3.86
IGETC: Will be completed by end of Spring
Prereqs: Donezo
TAG: No
Accepted: UCSB, UCR, UCI, UCD, UCSD
Rejected: UCLA
Pending: UCB
I just got a call from a student at UCSD it was so cute
What do they say? I’ve gotten two calls (presumable from them) but I’ve been in class each time so I couldn’t answer.
I can’t make it to transfer day. I hope im not missing out on much
@sbrapunzel it was a girl from my major who said congrats, asked me if I’m planning on going to transfer triton day, and if I had any questions about my major. It came from a restricted number
Thanks
hey! i’m going to triton’s day too! awesome to see my fellow transfer just as excited as I am!
i’m going down from LA to SD! Anyone needs a ride feel free to pm me!
Looking to hear some feedback between UCD’s and UCSD’s Economics department. Which one is better? Why? Which school offers better internships and future jobs? Any insight would be great! Thanks!
@dolpy1blue Ranking wise it’s UCSD for sure.
Do UC’s consider your overall GPA or just your UC-transferable GPA? Like will they care if I got a B in a non-transferable course, which affected my overall GPA quite a bit. It was a 5 unit math course.
