So does anyone want to carpool from LA to UCSD may 7th?
Admitted!
Transfer from UCSC
College: Thurgood Marshall
Major: Sociology- Economy and Society
GPA: 3.77
Pre-reqs: actually like zero. I’m a Business Management Economics major at UCSC and put Economics as my first major choice and Sociology- Economy and Society as alternative just because it sounded interesting.
GEs: completed, UC reciprocity
Applied: UCI, UCSD, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCD
Accepted: UCSD
Rejected: UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCI
Waitlisted: UCD
If you want to transfer definitely don’t do UC intercampus transfer, especially as a Business/Econ Major. I’m excited about getting into UCSD though I’m not sure whether I should completely change majors. I didn’t like Business Management Economics that much at UCSC and was wondering if I should just minor in Business at UCSD (because I don’t want the classes I’ve taken at UCSC to just go to waste) then major at UCSD with Sociology. Will I graduate on time? Ahhh…
Anyone going to Transfer Triton Day? Is it actually worth it to go?
For all of the WAITLISTERS out there, follow this thread I made today. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-san-diego/1888444-ucsd-transfer-waitlist-2016.html?new=1

Is there anyone can access iportal for i20?
I keep getting an error message
Anyone thinking of taking summer school at UCSD? If so, do you know how we can start signing up?
Hey guys! I was admitted to UCSD about two weeks ago, and was just wondering how you found your financial aid packages. I checked the site and it said the reward notification would be sent to your UCSD email. I looked into the UCSD email and it said it would automatically create one for you after you submitted your SIR… can anyone confirm this? If not, is there a manual way to create my own UCSD email? I’m itching to find out my financial aid package and is a relatively important factor when I decide to commit. Thanks in advance!
for those computer science majors.
You should be able to see you financial aid in myapplication. It’s lumped under contract, fin aid, etc.
I think they went a little overboard with the admit packet
@emily2636
What in it?
My friend got accepted and he just showed some certificate of admittance.
@BlackPlasma Triton papercraft template, a sheet of stickers, and a certificate of admission. Honestly, it doesn’t really feel like an admission packet. lol
what?? its so beautiful tho! I got my Davis packet at the same time. It was incomparable lol.
I’m confused. On the portal it states that you need to have:
- Complete at least 60 semester or 90 quarter UC transferable units by the end of Spring term 2016 with an overall UC grade point average (GPA) of at least a 3.00.
- Complete subject requirements by the end of Spring term 2016, including two UC-transferable English composition courses; one UC-transferable math concepts and quantitative reasoning course; four UC-transferable courses chosen from at least two of the following areas: arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, physical and biological sciences.
But if we got admitted, that means we already have met these requirements, right? I don’t get why they would admit someone if they hadn’t met these requirements. Can someone help me?
@heyhey12321 You’ve met these requirements from what you’ve reported with possibly a few exceptions regarding prereqs/igetc yes. Given that you followed through with everything you reported and are completing everything you said you would complete this semester, you’re fine. The reason I’m guessing they’re there is:
- Someone drops classes this semester to the point where it brings them below 60 transferable units
- Your GPA falls below 3.00 as a result of your grades this semester/you get below a 2.00 average
- You drop one of the required courses after your provisional admission
So just because you got admitted doesn’t mean you’ve met those requirements yet necessarily. As long as you’re not completely ignoring your classes and keep your grades steady this semester, you don’t have to worry though.
@IcedFlavored Lol. Yeah it’s kind of a silly combination. Could’ve used some more info on the actual admission/transferring part but hey, I’m sold on the stickers.
I felt like I was opening up a Toys 'R Us art kit or something instead of an admittance packet.
Does Anyone want to change from Muir to Warren??
