UCSD FALL 2016 TRANSFER THREAD

@missnewbooty95 tbh, I can’t tell you anything about the program at Haas. But if you think you can get a more in-depth education at UCSD, I’d believe it and take it. Like @showmom858 said, you can also minor in business and network through the Rady School of Management.

@ecwolf2016 Revelle’s awesome, but ngl it’s pretty rough for transfers. If you can prove that switching colleges will let you shave 2 quarters off your graduation date, UCSD will let you do it.

@sd4ever every ten minutes or so. I think the UCSD map numbers the lots P702 and P703

Does anyone know when we’ll get questionnaires and more stuff for housing at the Village? Would that be in June?

Anyone received UCSD email?
I got the account, but I don’t know the password. :frowning:

never mind. it works!

Hi everyone!
I got rejected from UCSD on 4/22, but called admissions and found that the reason why was because I was short 2.7 units. So I enrolled in another class and sent in my appeal 10 days ago.
I found out today that I got accepted!!!

Here are my stats:
3.8 GPA
No U-link or TAG, not IGETC certified but took IGETC courses (first semester at UCSC voided IGETC for me)
Muir College
Global Health Major
9/10 EC’s -> over 200 hours community service, various athletic awards, president’s list, etc
9/10 Essays

Congratulations! I’m in Muir too but as a Public Health major. Were you able to make it to transfer triton day?

Is there anybody thinking to attend 2016 Summer Academy for Transfer Students as CS major?

@sbrapunzel Yes I actually did make it to Triton Day. I only got admitted around 11am today, though. I went with my boyfriend who got in. I was pretty sad because I was still waiting to hear back from my appeal, and Triton Day got me WAY too excited on UCSD. So I’m very happy I got in! Congratulations to you!

Did anyone hear about that transfer success course to help transfer students transition into four-year and quarter system? I wanted to check it out on the catalog but I can’t remember the name.

@csplzplz How did you get the email to work?

@cyan96 There’s a link in My application checklist.

Anyone commuting from Chula Vista?

Did anyone experience any issues paying the $100 SIR deposit electronically? I’ve been trying to submit the payment all night and it keeps timing out. Also, (once I’ve submitted my SIR) have any of those who are “Undeclared” had any issues getting into an un-capped major? From what I’ve been told I can get into physics with the click of a mouse, but I’m not sure how accurate that statement truly is.

Any transfers get off the waitlist? In the past few weeks they let some international and freshmen students off the waitlist…do we come last?
Losing hope now :frowning:

Hello everyone!

Anyone know what the purpose of the six colleges system is for transfers? I assumed it was mostly for the GE’s and community… but if we’re all living in the transfer villages we don’t really get as much opportunity for social activities, right? Not really sure what to expect from the six colleges if all of our classes are spread out over campus for major courses as transfers anyway.

I know my college puts on activities specifically for their transfer students a few times a month to foster a communiuty.
