So now that the financial aid estimates are in, I have a question. I initially put “on campus housing” on my FAFSA application for UCSD. However, now I think if I choose UCSD I would go with off campus housing. Do I need to update my FAFSA application to reflect this?

@yelloww I’ve been reading the thread and 9k is really good compared to what others have been getting… I guess I should really consider UCM! I also got the pell grant, but I think it was about 2.5k… Either way its a good package! Whats your major?

@BIOCHEMislife23 I emailed admissions and they said that the wristband isn’t necessary and there will be information booths for those who haven’t received their wristbands to check in.
@dbxstian Yeah, honestly it’s a lot! Ucsd only offered 2k so now Ucm is really an option!

@alliot Regents is the most prestigious one but chancellors give you more money but i think it’s only for people in the surrounding area of the school (San Diego, Imperial Counties)
@twenmi Well, I’m not paying a single dollar out of my pocket so I don’t give a single crap about how prestigious the scholarship is haha I think I get enough dose of prestige just by going to UCSD haha
@alliot hahaha I hope I didn’t sound like I was downing your scholarship! I think most people would prefor the chancellors as it gives the most money! The prestige thing is just what they say on the website, but like you said reality who cares! Congrats on your great scholarship!
@twenmi it’s funny because it’s not like I accomplished anything special… My GPA was 3.7 which is probably an average at best for Aerospace. Maybe one thing they stood out was the fact that I’m a local and the fact that I began speaking English when I was 16? (I grew up speaking Japanese in Japan and moved to the US when I was 16; I have citizenship since birth tho)

@UniqueGeek Ok, so I did my FAFSA around December. I received email saying UCSD will offer Chancellors associate scholarship on May 4th. Right now, my contribution is at $10000, which the chancellors associate scholarship will cover. I asked the question about scholarship to one of the financial aid officer during the triton day and she said that the estimate should already reflect scholarships except fo Chancellors associate.
