being waitlisted is so anxiety inducing, seems like not many people were accepted last year but significantly more were accepted the year prior

My GPA isn’t competitive at all which is why I’m lowkey surprised I even got waitlisted lol but I wrote pretty good essays I would give them 10/10 tbh (I also worked on them like 2 months before the deadline but I was working on them literally every day lol, president of 2 clubs at my community college. honors as well. I am very involved in general with a lot so yeah. But I opted in just in case things go south since I am San Diego local especially with COVID/ classes maybe being online. Although I am also waiting to get off another UC (that is my top choice) waitlist, I decided to SIR at UCR in the meantime.
@zeroccc How? I mean you have almost 4.0 GPA and got waitlisted? did you finish requirements?
It’s still very possible to get rejected with a 4.0 and requirements done, because of how crazy competitive computer science/computer engineering is.
Yeah. I know because I am also CS major, but I never heard someone with high gpa got rejected from ucsd.
@wannagoback I believe the main reason is I am not the applicant from CC which has priority in admission. I applied some UCs this year and only received two waitlist offers from UCD and UCSD.
