Right now my parents is telling me to go to UCI instead of UCSD because it’s closer to home and more convenient, but the choice is still in my hand. So what i really want to know is that is UCSD a lot better than UCI honors? I plan to pursue business econ or something business related i guess and get an MBA in the future. So will going to UCSD get me more jobs compared to UCI honors bizecon? Thanks for any suggestions

You can go to UCSD and still graduate with honors. All you have to do is find a mentor, get above a certain GPA, and spend a year doing a research project.

The UCI honors project is the same thing except that the faculty holds your hand from day 1 and pressures you to finish that honors thesis.

I’m also under the impression that the honors project is more relevant if you want to go to grad school. Most of the people I have talked to doing honors projects really LOVE research and can’t imagine doing anything else for the rest of their lives. Every single person I know doing an honors project plans to go to grad school (from all fields, including bio, cogsci, history, etc.)

**** UCI. UCSD all the way!!! YEAHHHHH

But in seriousness, will you be commuting to UCI? If not check out both campuses and see what you like more. Our Econ is pretty chill here and there’s a major here that’s called Management Science which shortens to Man Sci. Now how cool does that sound? Strangely enough, there’s no straight up business major here.

LOL it’s aight i dont plan to pursue business admin, i just want something related so i can find a job in business when i graduate :). I am not gonna commute, but if i go to UCI, i can go home on the weekends. Man Sci sounds interesting XD
