Im A Biology Major And Live In South Bay California (los Angeles). Which School Is Better Overall?

biology => UCSD

UCLA by FARRR.

Can You Guys Tell Me Reasons Why

My biology teacher said SD had a very strong biology department and a great medical school. Plus, San Diego is like biochemical version of silicon valley. It’s convenient to find internship in there.That’s what I heard.

UCLA is a great medical school, even better than UCSD in many academic aspects and in many majors.

‘‘UCLA is a great medical school, even better than UCSD in many academic aspects and in many majors.’’

I found out I hate ucla as hell recently lol

“Why UCLA?? Because it’s UCLA!” I’m so sick of this.

“San Diego is like biochemical version of silicon valley”

That is right on the money.

For bio sciences, San Diego is better, no question. Last I remember, it was ranked #3 in the nation.

exactly!!!

If your planning on doing graduate studies in bio, SD has some of the finest faculty available. Famous for it’s bio department (which is state of the art, it’s very awe inspiring).

If you plan on going to med to school to become a doctor, you might want to go to UCLA. It’s better known to the general public and living in LA could be a benefit.

i think bio the ucsd bio program is very highly regarded, but at the same time, there’s the non-academic aspects you might want to consider. i heard its very, very difficult to meet new people there and very little to no school spirit (having no football or basketball teams) does that i think.

Go UCSD for bio. School spirit and the whole college small-scale nationalism is just a big distraction IMO. “My school is the best!” “No MINE is!” That’s real petty for the supposed brightest students in the nation, don’t you think? :)
