Actually this is a general question about UC GPA (but there is a supplementary question about UCSD points below)

I do not know if I did this correctly but here are my classes

GPA (unweighted): 4.0 (all a’s)

10th: AP Chemistry, AP World History, Spanish III Honors, English II Honors, PE (not a-g), Algebra II/Trig
11th: Pre-Calculus H (uc weighted), Spanish IV Honors (uc weighted), AP Studio Art, AP Physics, AP Language and Comp., AP US History

10th grade: 10 semesters x 4 = 40
11th grade: 12 semesters x 4 = 48
maximum of 8 bonus = 96

96 / 22 = 4.36 = 4360 points

The only way to get all 4500 points is if you only take 16 semesters of a-g classes in 10th and 11th grade. (But then people who do this would have to take 24 semesters of a-g classes during 7th, 8th, 9th, and 12th grades to get the full 500 points for the “number of classes” category.)

ebpcanimal: I thought he had said semesters not class for some stupid reason eventhough it wouldnt be impossible to take only 11 Semesters.

Spatel23: No dont regret it! Me and you are on the 4 by 4 Block schedule and we are able to get that 500 points for taking for more than 40 A-G Semester. Do you honestly think that you could boost your GPA by .5 by taking less A-G? because +.5 GPA= 500=500 points you get for taking more than 40. It highly unlikely that your GPA would go up by more than .5.

For example, it would be better to take a lot of A-G classes to get over 40 and let your GPA slide by .2-.3 in the process because you gain 500 points that way. You would be better off: minus 200 to 300 points +500 gained for taking more than 40= +200-300 Points
