I know that rankings don’t matter but oh well it’s good to hear that UCSD stands really high among alot of universities.

Today I went to the official UCSD website and it says

U.S. News and World Report ranks UCSD as 7th best public university in the nation, and 32nd among the nations top 50 universities.

wasn’t it 38th? and 8th among the public universities?

well just kinda curious! ^^

it used to be 32nd and now its 38th according to the news and world report.

so the school actually went down a few slots.

the school will say anything to get people to apply/come here. such as continually touting its “hottest school for science” title, even though that was YEARS ago.

Like UCLA and Berkeley, most of UCSD’s prestige stems from research and grad programs. As a result UCSD does very well in international rankings

and not as well in the undergrad national (USNews) rankings.

just because it was three years ago doesn’t make it less true now. its just as good a school for science now then it was then, probably better
