UCSD Rescind situation

My daughter accepted her admit from UCSD and now the her transcripts (9-12) are under review. Couple of days back she received her IBDP results and she will not be getting the diploma. She has received her college diploma and senior year she all subjects grade 4 and above. While checking her conditional offer it mentions IB students must get all 4 and above in all subjects.
In her last 2 years in IB classes and exams (semesters - 4). Only in 1 st year she has two 3s. And she has always 4 and above. Do IB result/score impact the admission offer. Please share your views.

No they shouldn’t. IB is for the credit on courses not for admissions. She graduated and that’s what’s important

Thank you so much, a big relief…

Opposite POV. Original Poster mentions:

UC’s take the conditional offer seriously. While IB results generally don’t matter for domestic applicants, they do greatly matter for international applicants.

So do you mean they can rescind admission with some with 4 also…do you suggest any action to be taken

PROVISIONS FOR MAINTAINING ADMISSION:

Check off the boxes below to indicate that you have read and understand the provisions.

Your senior year weighted grade point average (GPA) in all “A-G” college preparatory courses must be at least 3.00 or equivalent.

You must receive a “C” (or equivalent) grade or better in all “A-G” college preparatory courses taken in your senior year.

Your final high school transcript must indicate your date of graduation.

Your final secondary school results/exam results must be consistent with the level of academic achievement you reported on your UC Application.

IB Diploma students must achieve a 4 or higher on all exams.
A-Level students must pass at least 3 A-Level exams with “C” results or better.

YOUR OFFER OF ADMISSION WILL BE SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION IF:

  • You do not meet the provisions outlined above.
  • UC San Diego does not receive the documents listed below by the specified deadlines.
  • Your grades and scores on official transcripts do not match the information you reported on the Academic section of your UC Application.

I am going by the provision

A 4 meets the provision; a 3:does not

Senior year she has no 3 and overall GPA is 3.7…

I am only worried about IB test result where due to her illness she couldnt manage…do you think I share the details with AO

Were they aware of her previous 3s when they offered her admission?

We have provided the predicted grade provided by the school

Yes 11 grarde 1st semester mark 3 was intimated

If the 3 was on the application, then she was accepted despite the 3. The conditional acceptance applies to grades and scores received after the application was submitted.

Thanks

And just to be clear…no communication with admissions is necessary.

No preemptive communication is necessary. If they communicate to her, she will be expected to respond.

IB diploma is different. If they consider it just like A levels she could get in as a sophomore with the credits she gets the 4 in all classes… most schools will have a minimum requirement. IB is an add on and not part of the high school graduation. Both my kids were in an IB school and this goes for AP credit too. They had to get a 4 to get the credits.

Let’s wait and see from the university
