You know when you got your UC DAVIS TAG approved, they actually have classes listed that you need to finish with a specific grade for TAG to be approved for UCD.

Will UCSD do something similar as well?

Also do you have to be a full time student every semester for UCSD TAG to be approved?

Since UCSD is looking if you qualify for TAG through the UC application, your TAG and UC app can be different. As for the Grades, I think it is just maintain a 3.0 or better and you’ll be fine.

As for being full-time, no you do not

isn’t it also true that UCSD only looks at the last 2 semesters’ GPA to determine your final GPA that is to be approved?

I think it’s just fall no?

For evaluating specifically your academic record, UCSD follows the same traditional practice as all the other UCs, which is to use **all grades up to the preceding fall term/b. The last semester, if it is Spring 2011, will not be used in determining your admission eligibility; however, it will be used as part of verifying whether you fulfilled your provisional admission contract which usually requires a 2.0 (or higher) minimum GPA to be earned in the final semester.

Hope this helps.

i tag’d at ucsd. just did the basic reqs and i was accepted. afaik, everyone else i know that did the basic reqs was accepted as well. also, i took 7 units one semester, both UCLA and UCSD didn’t care. idk if this answers your question.

^ what was your major though?

GPA?

and what does basic prereqs mean?

Thanks though : )

basic pre-reqs meaning what UCLA asked for from JC for the specific major. should be roughly the same for all non-impacted north campus majors. i had a 3.5ish gpa at application, maybe lower at transfer.

ok, thanks that makes sense.

i guess the last two wouldn’t even be looked at(when making admission decisions) because the way i’m seeing it, when you apply, one semester(the one you’d currently be in) will have “In Progress” status and the semester after hasn’t even happened yet.

yeah, as long as you keep the TAG reqs and keep a basic gpa you’re at least in.
