my S was accepted as a freshman into UCSD Computer Science and am thinking about transferring to UCB EECS or UCB L&S CS in 1 or 2 years. Does anybody know the admission statistics for UC-to-UC transfer (and UCSD to UCB specifically)? How much harder is it to transfer into an impacted major?

UCLA treats UC-UC with the same priority as CCC transfers. UCB is the least accommodating but it does happen. The other UCs are in the middle.
Keep in mind that the College of Engineering’s acceptance rate for transfers is incredibly low (11.3%!!) and you would have to maintain an incredibly high GPA at UCSD to be competitive to transfer. It isn’t impossible, but unless you get straight A’s for two years, complete all of your prerequisites for EECS/CS, and do your other general requirements, I wouldn’t count on it.
