UCSD UCB and UCLA?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if I am competitive extracurricular wise for UCSD, UCB, and UCLA? UCB is my “first choice” but I would be pleased with admission to any of these three. I’m currently a junior at a medium (about 1700-1800 students?) size public high school. Our first semester just ended and so far my UW 10-12 GPA is a 4.0 (of course subject to change but I feel relatively confident it won’t fluctuate by very much).

My SAT is 2290-770M, 800CR, and 720W. I have taken 3 SAT Subject Tests-World History (780), Biology (780), and Math II (690-considering a retake).

9th grade course list:
Adv English
AP Environmental Science
PLTW Principles of Biomedical Science
Spanish 3-4 (I have 2 years of Spanish, and 3 years of Arabic-may also receive a bilingual seal for Arabic this year)
Adv Intermediate Algebra
PE

10th grade course list:
Adv English
AP Biology
PLTW Human Body Systems
AP World History
Honors Pre-Calculus
PE

11th grade course list:
Honors American Literature (couldn’t fit APEL :frowning: )
AP Chemistry
AP Art History
AP US History
Math 150/151
PLTW Medical Interventions

Projected 12th grade course list:
AP English Literature
AP Government
Linear/Discrete Algebra
PLTW Biomedical Innovations (2 hr block-includes internship beginning in February of 2017)
Community College Health/Psychology

My current extracurriculars include:
Tutoring as a volunteer after school 3hrs/week (have been doing this for about a year now)
Hospital volunteer 4hrs/week (about 6 months)
HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Secretary (have been a member since last year)-planning/hoping to be VP next year, at the very least still an officer-in addition, hoping to place at SLC (State Leadership Conference) this April
California Scholarship Federation member (4 years, might be an officer next year)
Red Cross Club (4 years)
I’ve amassed minimal volunteer hours from CSF and Red Cross Club (no more than 30 hours at most) but I have a lot from my weekly independent volunteering. In addition, I’m hoping to start tutoring as a job soon.
Are my extracurriculars “enough”? I’ve been told I should to try to pick up a hobby like a sport, instrument, etc. but I really enjoy working with the officer team in HOSA and volunteering weekly. I’m also afraid it’s too late to start doing something. I will also be absent this summer (visiting my home country) so there are no opportunities to pick up an internship, new volunteer position, etc. Should I try involving myself in more activities outside of school, and what kind?

Thank you very much!

Oh, I am also part of the Explorer’s Program at the hospital at which I volunteer. Also planning to receive Presidential Volunteer Award through the program, and Barbara James Service Award at SLC. Not sure if this matters, but I am also a Middle Eastern female whose family makes about $80K a year.

bump?

Yes you are. And adding activities for the sake of having tons is pointless. Adcoms see through it. But you should retake SAT II Math 2 for sure. Thats a bad score and does not fit the rest of your academic record

@khanam Thank you so much! Yes, that’s what I was thinking as well. I’ll probably retake it in June, when I have more time to study. Once again, thanks!
