UCSD's The Village

Called leasing department today, the email was sent out way earlier then it was suppose to. The expect the room assignment page to go live by early next week, maybe end of this week, but there is no firm date. Oh well.

lol Coolaid. Some random PS3 game.

I could understand spending 6 hours a day playing a game if it involved leveling up. They can be addicting. Maybe he has a video game addiction. If he is still playing that much when classes start then I would talk to him and try to help him out.

He’s only taking one summer class, so I’m sure he can handle it haha.

I saw a hot chick in the elevator today!!

I officially have Triton Eye :(

^hahaha

I’m on the lucky side of this, through Triton Eyes, I shall become a perfect 10… sweeeeeeeet.

There’s elevator for the dorms?

There are elevators in the village housing yeah. But he may be talking about the elevators in geisel library. Anyway, I have seen plenty of attractive girls at UCSD even though not many people are there right now.

@Coolaid317: It’s a mirage. You have Triton Eye too!

@davidindabible: Yup, elevators at The Village. They have them in the regular dorms too.

@Anacondrea: lol

Just want to find out who the damn hall/room mates are…It’ll b the deciding point of whether i stay at the dorm or get an apt…

Yeah is that site not up yet where you can view that info?

Also, back on the subject the infamous roommate, I left my ID card in my room tonight when I was unloading some stuff and the doors auto-lock, so I had no way of getting in. It was almost 10PM so I figured my roommate would be back, but after ~10 doorbell rings I got nothing, so I waited, then eventually had to go all the way over to the office and get a key made, then came back and let myself in.

And lo and behold, my roommate was home the entire time, but didn’t hear the doorball assault because - wait for it - yup, playing video games! lol.

How are the doors? Is it like the hotel (card key)?

and no, the webpage isn’t up yet.

The doors aren’t bad, but they’re kinda annoying. You have to put in your ID card, then enter a 4 digit PIN to unlock it. I’d prefer simply having the card unlock it without a PIN.

Anybody know how parking works at The Village?

I’d really like to be able to park my car overnight, every night for all for Summer session 1. Is this possible?

. . . . . great…doors sound like a big PITA…You said you were in a double right? how many people are in the “hall” or floor for you? and # of bathroom stalls/shower? On the floor map of the village description, I see either 1 or 2 stalls per 5/6 people…is it really ONE stall per picture? or are there more?

They’re somewhat of a pain. Then you have a regular key to unlock your actual room door, which I never lock.

I’m in a single. No chance in hell I would do a double. There aren’t shared bathroom stalls for the floors. Each suite (with 3-4 rooms) has its own bathroom. Some in Village West had 2 full showers/toilets, but mine only has one of each (in East.) The toilet and the shower are in two separate rooms and then the double sinks are in their own area, so someone can take a dump while someone else uses the shower. It hasn’t been an issue yet, but there are only 3 of us here right now (and one of my roommates has been gone for a week.) I don’t know how I’m gonna feel about sharing one shower with 4 other people in the fall, and that’s one of my major issues.

Yea, i got a floor plan with 6 people (2 stalls, 1-2 shower) but they’ve placed me in the East. I hope not many people dorm…and maybe there’ll be some empty rooms :P

Dang 6? At least you have two showers. East is brand new, so you’ll probably be the first tenant.

I got a double for fall. I’m searching like crazy, probably gonna take my $100 loss and go off campus. My parents may even just use the $1200 they’d be spending on rent and use it to buy a 1 bdrm condo or something…at least that way you have something after I’m done at UCSD.

Either way, there’s no way in hell I’m content paying $1200 a month for a double.
