UCSD's The Village

I think it’s a $250 loss ($600 if you wait until after September 1st.)

Yeah not a chance would I pay that much - or anything - for a double. I wouldn’t even take a double for free.

Clearly there are those of you who do not like doubles, but let me chime into this conversation because things have gotten slightly out of bounds.

You might not like a double, but please don’t put preconceived notions in people’s heads about doubles before they even try… I understand you might have some experience but you’re ruining it for people who want to try doubles.

I have a double and I really don’t see what the big deal is. I’m paying less to live in the same building as a single, I have more space in my room and I’ll have a homie at the beginning of the transfer.

+100000000 to foothillxfer!

couldnt agree more with you man!

@foothillxfer

I couldnt agree more.

Anyone know when we are supposed to move in for the fall term?

I’m worried that my roommate is some jerk who goes to bed at 10pm every day or something and get mad if I make a sound. I’m gonna be playing video games and ****! Can’t be all quiet…

Maybe setup ps3 in the living room? But then I don’t want my suitemates to ruin my ****

September 17th is move-in day, however incoming students can move-in early for 31 dollars a day (Starting the 10th). Hopefully by next week the room assignment page will be up and you can communicate with your suitemates and you’ll know about sleep times and such.

I would STRONGLY recommend you guys move in early if financially possible. Trust me, it’s a complete zoo come move-in day.

Grimey Grimes Grimes, could you post some photos? I’m curious to see what the rooms look like when not photographed by the university (lol), and maybe the view as well. Do you guys have roof access? Thanks! <3

On the East side building 1 and 3 have roof a terrace. Faux grass with benches it’s pretty nice. I’m not sure about the West, if you can get down to S.D. you can take a tour.

Thanks for the info! I might make a day-trip down next Friday.

Fridays from 1-3pm they run regular tours, for another time or day make sure you call ahead.

Yeah, pictures!! Do you think you could make a photobucket/flickr album and just take like a bazillion pictures of Village East?

Things I’d like to see from building 3:

 1. The Terrace
 2. The Meeting Rooms
 3. The laundromat (mundane I know, but still)
 4. The rooms (a double if possible, since I’ll be in one this fall)

Don’t sweat it if you’re too busy, but if you’re bored or something, I don’t think there’s a limit to the number of photos I’d enjoy looking at of the place where I’ll be in a mere 2 months.

Photo from the roof! Photo from the roof! We want photos from the rooftop terrace! Do it! Do it!

Pleeeeeeeeease.

@Foothillxfer - Thank you! Gah so over the complaints about doubles.

Login will be available at 11 AM today

Room assignment info is indeed up

Only 5 people wow…sick

Anyone else not able to see the names of suitemates? I only see myself on the list.

I see everybody

@Gevaisa
Maybe you have the entire suite to yourself. LOL.
