UCSD's The Village

Hey how am I gonna walk around naked and do whatever I want if I have another dude in a bed in the same room as me

Double sucks man

@washow
Just tell him to get used to it. ;)

@Foothillxfer I’ll try to get some pictures up this weekend.

PM me if you want pictures of the inside of East Village Building 4.

the housing assignment login page is down…

It’s been down for a few days now I believe.

When is the last day to cancel your contract? Just wondering, if that’s even possible.

^^
Q: What if I want to cancel my Housing after I have received my space assignment?
A: If you decide to cancel your space assignment, you will be subject to fees. Please see the following cancellation fee schedule.

Prior to 6/30/11 $100
7/1/11-7/10/11 $200
7/11/11 – 7/24/11 $300
7/25/11-7/31/11 $400
8/1/11-8/7/11 $500
8/8/11-9/16/11 $650

Why would you want to cancel your contract in the first place?

I am thinking about canceling my contract too… $10000+ for a double room with no parking spot sounds a little unreasonable to me.

with cable/internet and bed + all the amenities included + close to campus + food.

you can try and live 30 minutes away to save $500 and have to pay the bills every month, I’ll take the village.

^ I canceled mine, I’m going off campus. Forget paying 1000+ a month for a double room with no parking. It’s not like that is some great deal they’re giving you. And it’s not 30 minutes away, you can get really nice apartments 5-10 minutes away.

Heck, you can BUY a condo for 1200-1500 and have an investment property once you leave.

i’d rather live on campus than off. does anyone know when we can buying the yearly parking permit?

I was gonna post to say “when are they gonna fix the damn site” but turns out they did.

Full Asian house yall. Except for one Latino last name dude.

Yes the Village contract does come with, food, utilities, cable + HBO, high speed internet and weekly cleaning service, close to classes with a free shuttle and other amenities. But it’s still not really a bargain but ti is a fair price. However with good planing roommates and some luck you can get a better deal off campus. I hope anyone who chooses off campus waits to cancel their contract until you’ve found a place since housing near campus can fill up fast.

i logged into the room assignment thing and there are only two other names under suite mates. Does this mean I only have two roommates or is there some reason the rest arent showing up. I was told on the phone when I signed up that there were 5 people. Just also realized that I’m living with an RA

there’s your problem. i wouldn’t be surprised if your other suite-mates left because of that.

maybe i can take the other double which is empty then

Hey everyone,

I’m a little late in the housing sign up process, but I was just wondering if anyone can confirm whether the Village still has singles for female students… Anyone have any idea? Because I don’t think I’ll bother applying for housing through the school if they don’t since I’m a really light sleeper and will probably be a living zombie throughout the school year if I have a roommate… Thanks in advance!

also, this housing would be for the fall school year as opposed to summer housing, if that makes any difference… thanks!

applications for housing at The Village are closed now, they extended them to July 8th so you missed the extension as well.

you can try to see if they can make room for you, but i’m pretty positive the singles are all full.
