3.8/3.9 UF GPA, positive grade trend, 5 AP’S 9th-11th, 5 on schedule for Senior year, 2090 SAT, 300+community service hours, founder of school’s “new ideas club” a interdisciplinary club which allows people of various passions to work together to manifest their ideas, VP of Chess Club, pianist and violinist with multiple superiors at State federation and I create my own electronic jazz music, varsity debate, travel soccer, fundraised/fundraising for North Korean refugees, invited to Berklee College of Music summer program on partial scholarship but am considering taking the summer for travels and doing FLVS AP’s instead. What are my chances at the best in-state school in Florida?

those 2 are my top choices, but feel free to suggest other high quality schools which fit me, I intend to study political science or law, I would like to one day be a Senator or President, the first of whom also scores films and writes poetry
The UC’s have their own way to calculate your GPA, so as an OOS applicant, you need to have a-g course requirement grades for 10-11th only. Extra honors points will be given only for AP/IB or DE courses during this time. Here is the UC GPA calculator and be aware of the a-g course requirements. If you do not fulfill these by the end of Senior year, your application will not be considered. Also can you pay for the UC’s? $55K/year? Little to no FA?

@Gumbymom help? with the oos calculation my UC GPA is a 3.7, instate is a 4.4 (irrelevant as that may be) if I increase my SAT to 2200+ do I have a shot?
Your best chances would be UCR/UCSC/UCI and possibly UCSB/UCD. GPA is king with the UC’s more so than SAT/ACT scores, but outstanding essays and EC’s all are considered. Your UC GPA is below average for all the UC’s except UCM/UCR and UCSC. Average for the rest is 4.0+. If you are full pay for the UC’s, then chances increase but if you are in need of financial aid, it really makes little sense to apply to the UC’s since your Florida schools will give you a comparable education.
