UFL vs USC

I have an admit from UFL and USC for MS Computer Engineering. Currently I am in favour of UFL because of the courses and tuition cost.
But people have told me UFL seems to be bad in terms of internships and placements. But is it all that worth to pay a bomb for USC when I can get the same degree from UFL which is equally good.
Regarding placements and interships…we can surely move out of florida during summer right or is it that companies dont hire from UFL ?
Is there a clear distinguishing factor that puts USC on top of UFl ?

Since you are in the southern region are you writing about Univ. of South Carolina or Univ. of Southern California?

Can you afford USC? If you can, I think it’s worth it. However, if you can’t UFL is definitely a very good option for computer engineering and it wouldn’t be worth to take out loans to go to USC.

I’m affording you’re talking about Southern Cal.

U. of Southern Cal > UFL > U. of South Carolina

Yes, by USC i meant U. of Southern California. Sorry for the ambiguity. For USC i ll surely require a loan as the tuition is very high, which makes me in favour of U. of Florida.

Over 90% of the top employers that recruit at UF are not headquartered in florida. Internships are common and UF typically ranks in the top-20 for spin-off start-ups…so the opportunities are there.

ok well in that case definitely go to UF. As rogracer stated, there are plenty of opportunities at Florida

Thanks pierre and rogracer. That clears the confusion in my head

Vineeta,
Are you admitted to the games major in the Viterbi School of Engineering by any chance?

Is there a huge difference in the financial aid packages? I suggest you visit the USC Forum on CC. There have been some long threads about the Computer Engineering majors, internships and student input about classes and job placement.

Georgia Girl,

No I have opted for the general Computer Science. Will take a major in Database or Networking. I will def look up CC. Thank you.
Yes, there is a lot of difference in the financial packages. The tuition for USC is $36000 whereas for UFL it is $17000.
