UGA Admission error?

well, last night my father told me that he heard on the radio that UGA had accidentally sent people acceptance letters a few days/weeks ago and had to turn around and send them rejection letters…did anybody else hear about this or did my dad hear wrong…

Yeah apparently 100 students received letters awarding them admission when they should’ve just gotten confirmation letters for submitting apps. They weren’t all rejected though and decisions for them will still be sent out at the regular time with everyone else.

Wait…

if your admission is posted on their website, it’s good for sure, right?

I believe so!

Yep. It was only a mailing list of 100 or so that the mistake was sent to.

Yeah this happened to my friend Kurt. He received one last week and was the only person in school to get one. I thought it was weird because it was little early but didint really want to tell him or anything and sure enough on Wednesday saying it was a mistake.

Man, that would suck ass if that happened to me and it were my top school!

Me: “Oh, yay! I got accepted to UGA! What a glorious day!”

A week or two later
Me: "Oh, what a bad day. My friends hate me, my b/f dumped me, and my parents are throwing me out. How can this day get any worse?

open envelope
UGA Letter: “We made a mistake saying you were admitted, however you weren’t. OUR BAD!”

Me:“Oh, ****, life sucks! I’m going to end it all!”

points gun to head and pulls trigger

The moral of this story: UGA, get your **** together and stop making people upset! Or, there will be suicides! Okay, not really. But, that just sucks!

yea it happended to this girl in my class, she told everyone too, hehe. Neways shows that not all smart people are at UGA.

I think Univ of GA should honor all the letters regardless of the mistake. Hopefully they will see the merit of that decision soon.

^^No they shouldnt. Dont get me wrong I feel very bad for those who received this letter but if I dont get in because these 100 people got in ahead of me and I had better stats I would be upset. I know its only 100 out thousands who are accepted but I dont want to take any chances.

If they want students they admit to have high morals and character, then they should act as a role model and admit them, AND make room for everyone else.

Even airlines aren’t as low as UGA has been with this debacle…

The wise thing to do would be to give these students admission and admit 100 more kids this year. But as has been pointed out, that required moral character.
