Applying to UGA for grad school. My first two years of college my gpa was low due to personal reasons. I eventually got my AA degree and my gpa was getting better. I’ll be receiving my bachelors in the summer and I’ve passed all of my major courses with at least a B- Should I write an addendum for explaining the reasons for my low grades during the first two years of college?

Ask your advisor. It’s a discipline-specific answer. It also depends on what UGA asks for in its application packet. If there’s a personal statement, you might (might) talk about it some there. All you can do, really, though is destroy the GRE, have a great writing sample, and get strong letters of recommendation. Then hope for the best.

Good luck.
