Uga Honors

If I have a 3.9 Weighted GPA with 8 Ap’s 1 College/Joint Enrollment course and several Honors courses and a 28 ACT is that good enough?

You have a shot, but you won’t be an auto-admit. What’s your unweighted GPA? Also, have you taken the SAT? Students usually perform better on either the ACT or SAT. I took both and found the SAT was better for me. If you already know you like the ACT better, perhaps consider a retake? Most Honors students have a 1400+ SAT and 30+ (maybe higher) on ACT. Good luck, you have good stats, but your chances could be better by increasing your test scores!

Oh ok thanks…My SAT is 710 M 520 CR 620 W thats why i chose ACT…actually i just read on the UGA website that they superscore the ACT so since i took it twice my superscore is 29 (my math/writing/reading scores were a 30 but science was low) … i plan to take in sept to improve my science score to at least a 30 to get an overall composite of 30+…

Well good, I’m glad that UGA superscores so that you have a 29 no matter how you perform on the retake. Between now and September, just make sure to study hard and try to get that science score up. If you can also increase your scores in the other subject areas by a point or two, your overall composite will become quite impressive. You’ll have a good shot, but remember to apply as early as possible. Admission into the Honors Program is competitive enough as it is, without applying late and having less of a chance. Good luck and don’t waste this valuable time!
