Well today in the mail i got back my ACT booklet with all the answers i chose. I got four wrong total, one question short anywhere (i’m pretty sure) of a 36.

But here is one i got wrong:

“Soon after i arrived…”
6. Which of the following would NOT be acceptable in place of “Soon”?
E: Not long
F: (Nothing)
G: As soon as
H: When

No offense, but I’m surprised that this is the question that kept you short of a 36… Were you just extremely tired or are all the questions on the ACT this easy?

Good job on your 35, though. Remember that admissions remembers that you could very possibly have gotten a 36 on another version. As far as I know, they look more in ranges than at exact numbers. 34-36 or 35-36 may mean the exact same thing

You might be in the running as a presidential scholar…

Guys, the answer G: As soon as. You can’t say “As soon as after i arrived…”. Its convoluted and such

Anyways, now i’m positive i was one question away. I got 36’s in math and reading, one wrong in science for a 35, and 3 wrong in grammar (75 questions) for a 34. One more point anywhere would have been a 36 (they round up if the average of all four scores is a 35.5, mine now is 35.25, and the booklet says that you need 73-74 questions right in grammar for a 35, i got 72.

I’m happy with a 35, i was expecting a 31 or so, but still, its so easy to be like whatifwhatifwhatif. :(
