Ugrad Research

The reason I’m going to U. Nebraska is because their ugrad research program is amazing. Junior year your more of an assistant with a professor, and then senior year you work with the professor, but your in charge, and your the one who runs the research. The school really pushes the program (UCARE) and the school even pays you $4400 to do it. Will doing research be a big help when applying to graduate school? Esp. since I’m interested in the English schools since they are among the few that offer Economic History.

Yes, absolutely - graduate schools always need evidence that the applicant has the potential to do research, and if the applicant has already done some research - maybe even published a paper - the graduate school knows that the applicant is already experienced. So, yeah, it’s definitely a plus, in graduate admissions.

Yes, yes, and yes! Do as much research as you can as an undergrad. And you might even want to use the research as preliminary work for your Masters thesis. You can even pitch it to the admissions committees that way.
