Uh...another one, asking for RD chance

ACT: 28 (I’m only sending my ACT score since my SATI/IIs are terrible -_-)
TOEFL: 273 (98 percentile) with 6 in TWE</p>

<p>I’m taking 6 IB/AP classes in senior yr, and took 4 IBs last year along with 5 Pre-IB classes since sophomore yr. Have one C in AP calc AB from junior yr tho lol I’m just not a math person -_-</p>

<p>ECs: I have great ECs. I founded and co-founded three student organizations at my school, all deals with diversity, discrimination @ school, religious acceptance stuff. I also manages/initiaged County-wide gang prevention program. I work with county government, and go to different elementary schools and give presentations about not joining a gang. I was approached to join a gang once, and that’s why I started this. I’m currently raising a fund to produce a prevention video that will circulate within the schools in county.</p>

<p>Also many political campaign experiences… internship at elected officials’ offices… good awards/honors on my activism… blah blah blah</p>

<p>Essays: Very touching I’ve heard </p>

<p>I live in Northern VA, attend an public IB school. I’m a recent immigrant from South Korea (lived here for 3 years, didn’t know how to speak Eng. I was in ESOL for a year).</p>

<p>I have a very slim chance, I know (of course), but I’d really appreciate any type of comments or advices.

<p>You stats is lower than average but not terrible. NU values essay a lot and you said you got good review on that. Anything can happen (no point to worry about it) and you are not wasting the application fee. :)</p>

<p>i agree, ur test scores are a little low, but ur coarseload makes up for them… pretty good ec’s, any sports or music?? well, if not, like sam lee said, i think the essay is really important, so as long as it shows ur personality, i say you have a good shot… good luck!!</p>

<p>You just never know with schools like this one (so don’t stress out too much!), but to sort of reiterate what everyone else said, your scores and GPA are a bit of a reach based on the statistics NU has released in the past, but you have a lot of tough classes uner your belt, which should help. It sounds like your ECs are excellent, and if your essays are good, you definitely have a shot. Definitely worth trying. Best of luck!</p>
