uhh athletic questionnaire

I’m applying to UChicago EA, and if I attend I’m considering continuing athletics (I run/throw track and field) and so I’m filling out this questionnaire thing about the events I do and stuff like that.

On the questionnaire it has a question that asks you what other colleges you’re interested in. UChicago is a first-choice for me, but it’s a first-choice out of three first-choices, so regardless of whether I get accepted or not I want to apply to the other two schools. (they’re Wesleyan U and Harvey Mudd C, btw) Should I list those two colleges, or should I leave it blank?

I think you should be honest, if not from a “gaming the system” standpoint, than from the standpoint of being honest. Others may disagree.

Wesleyan and HMC are both competitors in attracting Chicago-esque students, so Chicago might feel more compelled to have you attend if you list those schools rather than if you put down the usual suspects as a first-choice school.

^agree with unalove. nothing says, “I’m your kind of student”, better than applying to institutions with similar philosophies and listing them. I think Tufts Syndrome is overblown, anyway.
