Accepted to LAS Math+CS! Congrats to all those who got in and the ones who didn’t please don’t lose hope, and please read what @cmd7131 has to say, it’s spot on. Also I had applied for Math+CS as first choice and Math as second choice so what @cmd7131 said about the choice seems to be true because my stats (Sat:1500, Sat2: math2 800, Indian board 10th ICSE 97.4% and 12th ISC 92.8% (I’ve already graduated and I’m on a gap year currently)) are lower than or similar to some of you CS CoE aspirants who got denied admission.
@syzygy53 I totally agree with you. What I stated is from what I heard from various social forums, it is not a hard evidence. However I hope it offers some perspective for future applicants. UIUC already restricts when CS is chosen as first choice, like CE or Bio E. At least that was the case when D1 applied 3 years ago. They may do restrict CS + X when CS is selected as first choice in the future. However since they are in different colleges like you said, they may not care.

Your son is extremely well qualified. I wouldn’t be surprised if they thought he was not going to the school even if he was accepted because he’s that good and might have rejected him on that basis.
