uiuc mse

<p>just got admitted to uiuc and declared my major in mse.</p>

<p>how’s the mse program at uiuc?</p>

<p>i know that it is ranked #2 for undergraduate studies…but it doesnt seem as rigorous compared to Northwestern or Cornell. </p>

<p>i guess the thing that is confusing me is that i did not have amazing stats and got into the engineering school, and not only that, but the #2 ranked mse program in the nation.</p>

<p>Don’t confuse selectivity with rigor. UIUC has no problem failing the bottom 30% of the freshman courses, while they probably don’t do so at Northwestern or Cornell. The graduates of any UIUC Engineering program are very well qualified, including MSE. Also, UIUC Engineering has an average ACT of 30-31, which is on par with Northwestern.</p>
