uiuc

i just got accepted to UIUC for my first choice program in biological/agricultural engineering. My second choice is material sciences.

At first i’m pretty excited to be accepted somewhere, but later i realized that my program falls under the school of ACES instead of college of engineering, and apparently the standards are different in evaluation.

should this be considered an accomplishment? i don’t want to get too excited over something that isn’t. My act was 32 (33 e, 34m, 32r, 30s, 36 writing)

I’m also an applicant from Canada if they viewed as an edge since no one from around here considers UIUC. So is the admission standards different with ACES since the avg act is 28-30 compared to the 31-34 for engineering school? But i’m just really confused of whether or not my program is evaluated as under ACES or engineering as an engineering degree…

If you got accepted to ACES, then it goes with the ACES admissions. That being said, getting into UIUC is a great accomplishment! Be happy that you got in, and don’t worry about whether you were accepted as a part of engineering or not since you got your top choice.

UIUC is a great univeresity! You got into your desired program - who cares which college it is in?! Congratulations! time to celebrate!
