Ulster or Strathclyde?

Hey all:

I’m an American student planning to study abroad in the UK for Spring 2012. I’m really interested in both the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and the University of Ulster - Coleraine. I’m studying women’s history and literature in a major city now, so I have some reservations about studying in another major city like Glasgow as I want a different experience. However, I do want to study somewhere with a developed social scene and somewhere where it is easy and cheap to travel among other European countries. I’m also just not sure on the atmosphere of both places so I would appreciate any input!

Any tips?

You’re not going to be able to reconcile the two things you want, it’s going to be either or I’m afraid. If you want a decent social scene with good and cheap travel connexions to Europe then there is only once choice, Strathclyde. Coleraine is a small town in the middle of nowhere; whereas Glasgow is one of the most exciting cities in Britain with excellent museums and theatres as well as beautiful countryside on your doorstep.

I agree with Dionysus58. Coleraine will be a completely different experience from Strathclyde and your current college. Depends what you want.
