Um...HELP

So I’m friends on MySpace with a girl from my school…I really don’t know her at all except that she goes to my school so I knew she wasn’t a 90-year-old child molestor or something. So anyway. She just posted this bulletin:

I really want to talk to her about it, but I’m afraid to bring it up because I don’t know her that well. WHAT DO I DO??? I’m so worried for her. :(

Sounds like she needs the help of child protective services, not a group of random internet strangers.

I think that she is an immature idiot to joke about rape (and yeah, I do think it is a joke, you don’t post on myspace while your brother is trying to rape you). You should get her off of your myspace friend’s list and avoid her. Calling CPS over stuff like this is the reason our kids are out of control to begin with.

I highly doubt her brother is actually trying to rape her. She wouldn’t describe that as “SUPER annoying” or post about it on MySpace for all the world to see or go right on to complain about her weekend plans.

You say you don’t know this girl at all except that you go to school together. I’d let it go. She has a best friend, and I’m sure she has countless other close friends and other acquaintances (who know her better than you do) who are also reading this post on her MySpace. If the situation is actually something to worry about, her friends will surely ask her about it and get involved.

Are you friends with any of her close friends? If you’re still worried, you can contact that mutual friend and say you saw the post and were worried and just wanted to make sure everything was all right.

Thanks guys  I just wasn’t sure whether or not to believe it since, like I said I don’t really know her that well.

I’m sure that she’s using that expression as a way to say that her brother is bored and bugging her. (It is a totally outrageous way for her to say that… but I don’t see any sign of actual abuse here… just a teen being silly.)

Take the safe route. Super annoying could be a way to say that she’s scared.

My suspicion is that she thinks she is being funny.

I don’t know the latest teen lingo, but could it be that she’s using the word rape in the same way that some kids use the word gay? I’ve heard kids use ‘gay’ to describe something that is annoying to them (That’s so gaaayyy.) I find that annoying in and of itself, but it’s out there. Anyway, it sounds like she’s using the word rape to mean bothering her, being a PITA, annoying.

Sounds like the brothers are pestering her and she is typing outrageous/embarrassing things about them in their presence to get them to layoff. Some people just have no EQ when it comes to humor…your friend seems to be one of the ‘clueless’ ones.
