Okay, this has been sitting on my mind for a very, very long time. Like hella long.

I’m looking to apply for transfer for Fall 2014, but the only thing holding me back the single letter of recommendation I have to acquire in order to submit my app. At least, that’s what the Common Application says, right?

I asked an admissions representative on live-chat about a week ago about the recommendations requirement, and she said that yes, a recommendation is required for the application. That should be where the question ends.

But on the LSA site, [Undergraduate Application | LSA Students | University of Michigan](http://www.lsa.umich.edu/students/undergraduateapplication), it does not say that an academic evaluator recommendation is required for transfers. This seems to align with everything everyone else has said in the past transfer threads.

Perhaps just trying to be hopeful, but is there anybody out there who can tell me fo’ sho’ if a recommendation is required for transfer or not? I would really appreciate it. And even if the recommendation was not required, how do we submit the Common Application without inviting a recommender? (I’m tearing my hair out because none of my professors have responded to my LOR requests, and I’m really cutting it close to the deadline.)
