UMass Amherst Kinesiology [$38K] vs UConn Allied Health Science [46K]

Umass kinesiology : in state tuition 38k
Uconn Allied health: regional tuition storrs 46k

Hi, I’m a senior who lives in MA and was wondering if the allied health program is worth the extra money. I want to eventually get a masters in occupational therapy.

You can get a masters in OT coming from both of these fine schools. This will really depend on personal fit, what you take advantage of, and affordability.

My daughter was accepted into both of these schools for kinesiology, but ended up at UDel. She continued with a DPT program. You want a good gpa, I know many of the DPT programs she applied to liked a high GRE score. Choose the school you like better.

Are both affordable without parental loans?

Did you get into any special program at either one (Honors, scholars …)?

Personally, I’d pick Amherst because the 5-college opportunities and numerous college students/college towns environments are in my opinion better than Storrs.
And it’s less expensive to boot, relatively speaking.

Have you visited? If not, time to register for an Admitted student day and try to take a major or college-specific tour too. :+1:
