Any advice between these two schools if cost is not an issue…much appreciated for any help from you guys!
I don’t know how UMass does it but at PSU you apply for your major after 3 or 4 semesters. You have to take certain classes with C’s or better, and meet a GPA requirement. Currently that’s 3.00 for comp sci but that could change slightly from year to year based on whether the department is over- or under-enrolled. https://advising.psu.edu/entrance-major-requirements-college-engineering-2018
UMass CS is topnotch. He’s in for his major, directly. And he’s in Honors. This should be a no brainer: Umass.
