My son just got into 6 week UMass Research Intensive program. Is it any good? He is currently a sophomore interested in pursuing chemistry major, and he got into a biochem focused mentor.
It can’t hurt if he’s interested in learning about research.
Will it help with college apps if that’s what you are asking? Hard to say but typically pay to play and this is $12k don’t.
But it’s great exposure to explore and validate - so that’s where the value would be. Likely bettter for college - a summer job slinging fries. It demonstrates teamwork, work ethic, responsibility and more. .
Good luck.
