Hello ! Recently I have been accepted into both UMBC and UMD for the class of 2023.
For UMBC, I have been accepted into the biology program with a merit scholarship ($9,000/yr). For UMD, on the other hand, I have gotten into the spring semester / freshman connection along with letters of sciences ( LEP’s didn’t accept me, which is extremely depressing for me). This seems like so much of a hassle, although I would love to go to UMD - it has always been one of my top choices, and I was deadset on attending.
Summed up, I got a 1460 on the SATs & my gpa was a 4.2W. I’m sure my fairly low stats put me in such a position.
So, if anyone could answer a few questions, I’d truly be so grateful for your inputs!
First - which would be a wiser choice, although UMBC seems smarter all in all, UMD seems to be a more reputable school. Is getting through freshman connections and letters and sciences worth it ?
Also, would it be possible to change my intended major for UMD to be reconsidered from the LTSC?
Lastly- what would one have to do for an offer to be rescinded?
Once again, thank you so very much
