Can you guys tell me about these places. Whatever comes to mind.

Case is one of the best schools in Ohio. Cleveland is a great town, with alot to offer. Case can get a tad expensive if you don’t get a scholarship or grants. But if you are one of those artsy types, Case is in a hotbed of that area, with many museums (Art Museum, History Museum, Auto Museum) literally on or right next to campus. I don’t do Orchestra either, but the Cleveland Orchestra is one of the top 5 in the world. Just don’t fall in love with the sports teams in Cleveland or you will be in for many years of disappointment.

Never heard of Leigh or RPI (is that in Rochester?) but Maryland is a good school. Great sports teams, they won the NCAA basketball championship a couple years ago. If you go there just be able to explain to everyone you meet what the hell a Terrapin is (turtle). I go to Kent State, and I still don’t know what a Golden Flash is. The mascot is an eagle, but I still don’t buy it.

RPI is in a sleepy part of NY…It will be boring and girl guy ratio is bad if you are a guy.

Well, let’s me share what I know about RPI.

RPI is America’s first private technical institute, that it was once the MIT of U.S. The president of the school is the first female afican american to get a Ph.D from MIT.
It is a school that specialized primarily in engineering and science. more than 50 percent of students major in engineering. Academically, the school is awesome. I visited their classes and labs. I was really impressed. The class size is small (at least the ones I saw), and there is only one big lecture hall in the school. the Profs are the best in their fields. For lab, what I see is very high tech, I mean VERY high tech. Everything is brand new.
Maybe you concern that not many ppl heard of RPI. But let’s me tell you, ANY ppl in the engineerin field know this school ( For ex, while I was in high school ( I am in SoCal area), I took an engnieering class in a CC, I asked the prof what engineering schools should I apply, he said RPI. I was really amazed the prof, an USC alumni, knows RPI. And also my cousin in Cornell, a EE student, also told me it is a good school. And my tutor, that his father is an engineer, told me that his father told him that RPI is one of the top engineering school. Lastly, last yr, I had a chance to travel to Austin, Texas, to visit my mom’s friend, whose husband is an engineer, told me that when he was in the grad school, his prof was a RPI alumni.) My pt is, RPI is really highly regarded in the industry.

For social life, well, while it is true that the male female ratio is 3:1. However, there is a ALL-FEMALE school right next to RPI which will make the ratio to 1:1. Btw, students don’t go out of school during weekend, I remembered that RPI is ranked #1 by PR as (most things to do in the campus), which can also means there is nothing to do off campus.

Downside of RPI: Troy, where RPI located.
Well, b4 I visited there, I had already lots of bad things about the city. I used to think that there must be some exaggeration. Until I actully visited there, what can I say, it is REALLY BAD. It is bad not becuase it has lots of crime, just that the city is so dead. When I was in Troy, I felt like I walked into a movie scene. It is like everyone in the city died out. ( I am not kidding) The buildings in the city is very old and worn. And it was so quiet, and scary at the same time.

wow thanks any on lehigh or umd or more on case and rpi. i might just apply to rpi but not go there(i heard the courses are just too tough)

Ok… Lehigh…
Lehigh is located about 20 minutes off of the Pennsylvania/NJ border in the… you guessed it… The Lehigh Valley! Although it is on top of a mountain in the middle of the valley, which, you guessed it… It’s hilly! When I say hilly, I mean hilly. If you go to Lehigh the freshman 15 is probably 15 pounds lost.
However, Lehigh is also a good school academically. Ranked in the top 40, it has an excellent engineering program. What makes the school even better is that it is a great school all around, not just in Engineering for example
However it is a big party school

“the freshman 15 is probably 15 pounds lost”

^That’s just got to be reason enough to go!
