<p>If you are interested in the Athletic Training side of Sports Medicine, UGAs program is certifed and UMDs is not. This would mean additional graduate school work to become a certified athletic trainer if you were at UMD.</p>
<p>UGA has a degree in Athletic Training while Maryland does not, according to the College Board website. If you’re sure that’s what you want to do, then UGA seems to be the obvious choice. If not, though, both colleges have so many major options that you’d be bound to find something to your liking.</p>
<p>Also consider where you’ll be happiest – last year, I went with Maryland over UGA because I was attracted to a specific program, even though I liked UGA more. I’m trying to transfer back to Athens for the fall. Really, the personal should factor into your decision just as much as the program and the pragmatics.</p>
