UMD vs Raikes(UNL) vs UW–Madison for computer engineering

In terms of cost I’m not too worried about. My main concern is how campus culture looks like in each of the schools and what are the future career outlooks for each school. I primarily applied to UMD because I had friends who learn there now. For Raikes(UNL) I was very interested in their mix of computer science and business program. For UW-Madison, I was look forward to starting fresh in a good engineering school.

My dealbreaker is also primarily if I choose Raikes, how easily would I be able to apply myself out-of-state.

Ask Raikes for a detailed list of their outcomes. They note 100% placement with a $104k salary but don’t list the jobs. Ask them for job titles and locations. I’m guessing they are not solely in Nebraska. But find out.

Today you can get jobs anywhere. The internet. Both my kids got jobs nowhere near school.

The bigger thing here is Raikes is not engineering.

Do you want pure engineering or business /cs (not full in either)?

You might find this post informative. This student is choosing between UNL and a different school(UIUC), but there is a lot of info to be gleaned about UNL Raikes.

I’m interested in all those fields but generally lean to cs

I’m confused. Generally interest in all those fields - Raikes.

Or just want CS - UMD, Wisconsin ?

Will you visit admitted students events?

There is a pause in many internships locally this summer. While UMD has excellent career outcomes historically, the cuts in federal spending do and will continue to affect all the major employers around UMD, imo.
Your friends at Univ of Maryland can give you more insights.
