I was searching the Umich site and there was nothing said concerning how much finaid is given especially to in-state students.

UMich promises to meet need for in-state students. As to how well that will match what YOU think you need, run the NPC as @ucbalumnus recommended.
How accurate is the NPC if all given info were accurate too?
If you have basic finances (no self employment, no divorced parents, no excessive assets like rental homes) then the NPC should be fairly accurate.

It is now quite accurate for my D. There was some glitches when they switch over to CB for the NPC last summer. UMich not only will meet the need of the student (through grant, loan, and work study) after scholarship, if any. They also pledge to reduce loan.
