Can anyone give their input on whether UMich would want a peer rec letter on top of a teacher and counselor ones?

Personally, I think it’s a bad idea to have a peer rec over any rec. Unless it’s required.
No. I don’t think any college, except Dartmouth wants or requires one (my good friend, bless his soul, is taking a really long time. Or he’s majorly procrastinating and lying like crazy. Who knows). In the case of recommendation letters, just give them what they ask for.
They have even reduced the number of required LOR this year. I don’t think a peer LoR is allowed or have any positive impact.
well on the common app it says ‘other’. And the peer letter wouldnt replace any. It would simply supplement the other 2, giving a different perspective. Would it really hurt me to put it?
No one besides Dartmouth wants a peer rec. UMich is a subset of “no one besides Dartmouth”
Didja look at that requirements list you requested? Follow its guidelines. Anything else is watering down your app.
