Ross Specific Essays: good; innovative; wasnt written great though–barely got the application in (submitted at around 11:57 PM Nov. 1st)
Family: High Income
High School: Literal opposite of a feeder school. Surprised I even got into LSA.
I won’t pretend to be able to chance you but I will say how impressed I am by your community service and selflessness. I suspect Ross will see your capacity to leverage a business education into positive societal impact.

-Ross evaluates 6 items mainly after you get in Umich. 5 essays (personal statement, why umich -mainly why Ross?, community, Ross business case study, artifact)+ activity… more over, these evaluation is conducted by not knowing your GPA, SAT… however, the admitted student average GPA 3.93 unweighted 1480 SAT… that is for your reference to evaluate yourself. Your activity with or w/o involving business really not much factor… the key is your business case and artifact essay quality – also other essays too.
class 2028 EA application for Ross:This year of application review will certainly keep us on our toes! Preliminary application numbers are around 7,500 for Fall 2024, which is up from 6,650 this time last year. While it’s always a little bit of a shock to see the increase in applications year-over-year, we are ready and excited to review your application and to learn more about you!
Are you in state? I know it’s really competitive…my cousin has a 36 act non superscored and almost perfect gpa….and he thinks he won’t get in. we are out of state.
Michigan looks at rigor and numbers. The sat is the glaring problem. But. You got into Michigan and that should be celebrated. Many, many Michigan students go into Business from LSA. Many compete with similar jobs with Ross Students. Michigan is a bit of an outlier in this regard. I would look at the minors etc that Ross offers. Also look at the many opportunities on campus such at Barger Leadership Institute | U-M LSA
When they registered with the University. The same day, two Alumni reached out. One from Silicon Valley.
I can bore you that they were flown to a large Augmented Reality conference to meet up with students from Harvard, Stanford, USC, and a few more since they all had Reality labs and wanted to learn about their paths and what they did. Long story short. Michigan has the largest lab of its kind in a university setting. Michigan supports their students to no end.
With the Bardger group grant they had a mentor for 4 years that was an expert in Start ups. They had to report to her. Write monthly reports, ledgers etc etc. They actually formed their first board. My son with others put on live conferences with the likes of Ford, Microsoft and many other companies in the field. Even did a virtual conference during the pandemic. They had close to a 1,000 people if I remember correctly. This was after Michigan told him to shut it down during the pandemic. Lol. He said no way and all companies were more then happy to help.
I can go on but… Tons of opportunities to do business at Michigan. All his friends, whether Ross or not had job offers in hand early.
I do not have the math handy, but there seems to be very few out-of-state spots these days. I have not had good luck with “my kids,” personally, over the years. Maybe your essays will be stronger. Your activities are appropriate IMO.
