Want smaller school which is hopefully why umich honors would work. Umich is my favorite school but very concerned about siZe and lack of support. Worried wake forest is too sheltered and you get too much help that you won’t normally get in the “real world”
No school is the normal world. That I can assure you. Coal mine. That’s the real world.
Umich honors program (there’s no distinct honors college at UM). Will give you access to resources to make it feel much smaller. And big time support compared to the other students
Wake Is more challenging and competitive than you may think.
Both schools are filled with smart and interesting students. And wonderful and accomplished professors.
You like UM better. So I would choose Um and honors program all day long.
Cara, I think you are unduly worrying about both universities. Michigan is indeed large, but there are many ways you can make it small. And Wake Forest will not babysit you!
Go with your gut and you will be happy. You really cannot go wrong since those are both excellent universities. Is there a cost element to consider? What is your intended major? What are your long term goals?
Didn’t know that that wake was super competitive…
Also, by “real world,” I just meant that I’ve heard wake can be kind of like a bubble, isolated
Cost isn’t an issue, I’m studying poly sic and journalism I think
Check out Michigan’s North Quad. It is a pretty cool concept.

Also check out the Residential College.
privatebanker is partially correct. The Honors program does offer Michigan students a more intimate experience, but it is not that pronounced from the general LSA experience, not because it is not highly personalized, but because LSA is a very well funded college with a large faculty and excellent resources for all students. Still, the Honors program has a slightly stronger student body, slightly smaller classes, and slightly better advising than LSA, so it is definitely a great option.
Sorry I didn’t articulate it clearly . Wake isn’t competitive in a stress factory manner . I was only pointing out that a school with such highly motivated and bright students will be naturally academically focused. It’s not going to be s place that babysits for you. A lot of your fellow students will want to be lawyers drs professors and or pursue a mba. It will be academically challenging is a better way to put it.
