Wondering how many are on the waitlist vs expressing interest in only the winter cohort. We committed elsewhere but will forfeit our deposit if Michigan can become a reality.

We will join UMich, if we get off the waitlist. Applied for First Year Engineering (Robotics). So I am assuming many are still interested in fall admissions.

How does Michigan typically notify students who are given offers of the waitlist? Do they get an email asking them to check Enrollment Connect, or do they just need to check their portals on their own? Some schools actually make a phone call–does that ever happen? I’m not looking for a lecture on falling in love with a school that loves me. I am already doing that! Just would like a better idea of how this happens since I have never been through it before. Thanks!

I looked back at the Michigan class of 2027 RD thread to get a timeline for waitlist admits. It has a bit more self-reports than this thread during that time. It appears that everyone was contacted by email. Both in-state and OOS students were accepted (mostly OOS).
Round 1: May 18-19. Students had until May 28th to decide.
Round 2: June 9-11.
Round 3: June 22. Students were given until July 1 to make a decision.

Patiently waiting…. Did you respond to that you’d be willing to only be considered for the 2025 winter cohort? I took that gamble. Fingers crossed and hoping.

I don’t think we are patient anymore! We did not respond to the email so I think that means she is being considered for both waitlist and cohort. But I think she has mentally moved on to the program at Syracuse and not even sure she would accept at this point,

Don’t think so. I haven’t seen anybody talking about acceptances.
Son waitlisted for engineering … haven’t heard anything yet …
Just got email for MAES that they will release first round by end of next week. Nothing has been released yet.
