UMichigan Ann Arbor EA Class of 2021 Applicants

I was deferred last year and told to send in 1st semester grades. I wrote a letter of continued interests and got in on the 1st round of regular decisions which was I believe first week of February before they even received my additional grades. So don’t be too down if you got deferred and i would definitely recommend sending a letter of continued interest.

Thanks Eeeee27. I guessed as much. Are there any stats on what %age of deferred get admitted? for OOS?

accepted! which rocks after my northwestern rejection  does anybody know where to find the facebook group?

Deferred… I thought UMich would def accept me 1550/1600 SAT 34/36 ACT 4.14 GPA

anyone else get a decision but not a email?

I am sure that this has been covered … so, forgive me. My D got deferred from OOS to CoE. Straight As, most difficult courses, Mostly 5s on APs and a few 4s. ACT 34 (36 E, 34 M, 35 STEM). Kind of surprised – but I can see that there is strong competition. People have mentioned about ‘letters of interest’ and regional counselors. We never received any information from a ‘regional counselor’. Would contacting that person be of value at this point ? Are there instructions for the ‘letter of interest’ and what to do next ? Finally, when do decisions come out ? The website seems to say April – but do people really get in as early as February ? Thank you.

I’m an international student and i got deferred. To whom should I send my letter of continued interest? How do I find my regional admissions officer?

anyone else not get a decision yet?? so nervous

@dukeunc @Biryani2017 - you can get the regional counselor contact info from https://admissions.umich.edu/contact-us

@Poeny2015 and 50k plus per year…LOL
No financial aid for you!!!

Accepted OOS CoE!!
Congrats to everyone else who got in and good luck to those deferred. Remember it’s not over yet!

@sciencegirl20 Are you instate? and what are your stats if you don’t mind me asking

Deferred. OOS, 4.1 W GPA, 31 ACT. Congrats to everyone who got accepted!

Wait fam how do you get to your portal? I haven’t received my email yet.

Does Umich ever straight out reject any EA applicant?

Deferred…expected

In State - Deferred LSA. 1310 SAT (new), 3.8 UW GPA. Several APs (our school only has a few). Anyone know about continued letters of interest or really anything that can help?

Is there a new thread for people who were deferred? I know there was one last year so I’m just wondering

Accepted! OOS, 4.2 W GPA, 32 ACT, legacy. Good luck to deferred!! Wish you the best. Go Blue!

So what can you do if you are deferred? I saw on the UMich website that they want to see updated transcripts for the next semester, but can I also submit new test scores, like SAT subject tests, or the ‘letter of interest’ that I’ve seen mentioned on this thread?
