@c011e9e agree 100%. There’s no way they didn’t deny anybody
D accepted. OOS. LSA. Math major. 4.0 gpa. 4.8 wgpa. 30 ACT (35 math). 4 rec letters 10/10. 12 honors courses. 11 AP courses. 5’s on AP exams.
Feeling kinda bummed out because I was deferred. 36 ACT, 4.0 GPA. OOS. I have a job and do lots of volunteering. UMich was one of my top 2 choices so I wrote very specific and clearly interested essays. Not sure what I did wrong
@LightSpira I’m OOS CoE
Deferred
@ohiogirl01 I felt the same. 10% gpa at my school, 1510 SAT, deferred.
S was accepted OOS. While all are excited, we will wait for Ross decision. I hope that is in February, rather than March.
@ohiogirl01
@lolonimous
Don’t feel bad about it, Umich will defer applicants they deem “very qualified” and who they assume might not attend Umich even if accepted and applied like a back-up. They do this so they can open up more space for ppl who will actually attend umich. For me, I got into a top university early decision, but was deferred to umich. They will surely admit you regular round, however. Good luck!
Deferred

Umich is a MAJOR reach for me but it’s such a dream I thought you never know if you don’t apply. Comparing myself to the rest of people who applied I have NO CLUE why I was deferred but so happy. I have no legacy and am going for nursing. Only got a 1200 on SAT and 3.8 gpa so I thought they were going to crap on my application. I’m expecting to get denied in march but excited about the not immediate deniel. Any clues on what is happening lol??
@ohiogirl01,
Sorry you got deferred. I would assume that Michigan didn’t know your feelings. They probably thought you were applying as a safety. Did you demonstrate any interest. Did you visit, or attend a local event, or reach out to your regional admissions rep? If not, they would not know you were a serious candidate. I suggest reaching out to your admissions rep and clearly articulate your passion for Michigan.
Did anybody get into any other colleges? Need some good news lol
Question on deferred. My D applied to CoE and got deferred. Is there any where we can get information on number or %age of applicants who got deferred and how many of them got admitted subsequently in April?
Also is it somewhat easier to get into LSA as compared to CoE?
My portal was updated HOURS ago saying that I was deferred but I still haven’t received an official email. Is that the same for anyone else?
yes lsa is easier to get into but engineering school is more competitive because it’s more prestigious (ranked #6 in country) engineering is one of the reasons umich is so famous @jerseyshor
Accepted LSA residential college. OOS. 34 ACT/2300 SAT. Three SAT subjects 790/760/740 Math/Chem/US History. :)). didn’t visit.
@whatsamania why were u trying to check your umich decision when u already got in ED to northwestern lmao
Deferred LSA. 2240 SAT, 34 ACT, 800 Math 2. Kinda bummed
Accepted to LSA! In state, 4.0 UW / 4.114 W 1310 SAT ,
